Yuna
Zoetermeer - january 2011
Recently we bought a new Bordeaux Dog puppy (Chinook) to keep our 7.5 years old Bordeaux Dog Yuna company after the loss of our other dog Maciste. After a week they got used to each other, and Yuna became happier, playful and even displayed motherly behaviour. In September of 2010 she made a turn and immediately screamed loudly. After that she limped and had an arched back. The next day we went to our vet, who suspected a cruciate ligament straining or rupture. He gave us painkillers and the advice to keep Yuna calm for two weeks.… Read more
Bradley
Mrs. Kinnegen
Since last summer, our 9 years old Golden Retriever regularly couldn't use his right front leg when playing with our youngest dog. If that happened he would be crying loudly and after a while he could slowly start to use his leg again. After a consult of a veterinary specialist, wear and arthrosis of both of his elbows was diagnosed, and we were given Metacam for him. That went well for a while, but eventually Bradley became a slow, old dog.… Read more
Dommel and Douwe
Gerbert and Sandra
We got Dommel, a 1.5 years old cross breed Friese Stabij, from an animal shelter. From the beginning, Dommel had a behavioural problem when he was outside; he would be aggressive to every dog and cat, and also every person he met. He was pulling the leash, barking and snapping at everything that was moving.… Read more
Julius
Hilly & Nico Bosma
Julius is a Leonberger, born in 2004 and we have him ever since he was a puppy. We followed a puppy course and later started a basic training. As happens with playful puppies, he hurt his right front limb and a while later his knee. The latter didn't recover that well, and despite painkillers Julius got from the vet, he kept on walking funny with his hind legs (like they didn't want to walk along).… Read more
Cas
Vink family
Our Dachshund Cas was attacked by a large dog during his daily walk: the dog grabbed him by his neck and shook him roughly. From the outside, no injury was apparent, but two days later Cas could hardly step out of his cage and walking was very hard for him. He only wanted to lay down and was shaking all over his body, you could see from the look in his eyes that he was in a lot of pain. … Read more
Barry
Van Elten family
In June 2010, our then 1 year old male cat Barry was probably hit by a car and his hind quarter was completely paralysed. He couldn't even urinate or defecate by himself. Three days later, after treatment with prednisone and lactulosis by our vet, there was no improvement at all and the vet advised us to euthanize Barry. … Read more
